Praying for the day you see my reflection staring back at you,
Murky water and all you can see is you.
Cherry on your lips,
A fire on my tongue,
Breathe in so easily, yet you seem to to fear me.
Drifting further out into the current where I hold onto the thought of you.
Blood paints my face,
Can't erase the troubles I've brought upon myself.
Out in the woods, climbing the mountain trying to find you,
But the air grows acrid,
And I can't feel my bones,
Everything is numb,
All around me has turned into a desert of empty love.
The bandages cover your eyes, masking a world that was once on your side.
Fading lights... cigarette daydreams...
Broken pieces strike like stars in a night sky,
Ripped lips and bruises,
A body once full of life now becomes a wasteland,
Running from this nightmare,
I try to escape back into my dreams,
Hoping to find peace.
