I graduate from college in 220 days but who's counting right? It's that point of my college career where I'm bombarded with the heavy question of "what am I going to do now?" For those students in the same position as me, or will be in the next few years, you'll find yourself in this dazed confusion of unanswered questions. I know where I want to be five or ten years from now, but how do I get there? How do I make those next steps? How do I actually "adult?"
I don't really think anyone has those answers and that might just be the joy of life.
So where exactly do I want to be in ten years? I want to be the owner of a child care and family service center. I'm on the fence about becoming a non-profit, but my ultimate goal is to provide services and child care to low-income and needy families. Services like financial counseling, family/individual therapy, educational and career opportunities, tutoring for school-aged children and other services down to child care.
It's a pretty ambitious goal that's for sure, but I'm passionate about giving aid to low-income families. It's a dream I can accomplish and I am motivated and determined to not give it up.
It doesn't matter what your dream or goals are after college. It doesn't matter if you even know what you plan to do after graduation. One day, you'll get there. If your goals are small and focus on each day at a time or are focused on the big picture, eventually you will get there with hard work and a huge amount of effort. Becoming the person you want to be or achieving all your goals is going to be the hardest part of the journey. You and I will want to give up every day. Nothing you imagine is ever too big or too ambitious.
As the cliche goes, "If you can dream it you can do it."
