Your Dreams Aren't Big Enough If They Don't Scare You

It's okay to be scared and uncertain of the path you chose for yourself. It may not be easy, but it will be rewarding.

It's a quote I came across a while ago on the internet. It's simple and short, yet the truth of the words hold a deep truth.

~ If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough. ~

As a college student, I sometimes struggle to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The routine becomes monotonous: drink coffee, go to class, study, do homework, eat, sleep, repeat.

Soon I find myself in a pile of books and homework and I'm losing motivation. But then something reminds me of my end goal, of my dream.

Sometimes it's volunteering, sometimes it's an Instagram picture of someone who has achieved my goal, and sometimes it randomly hits me like a slap in the face.

The career path that aligns with my passion is not an easy one. Every time I look at the statistics of the acceptance rates, or I meet another student who is on the same path as me, my chest becomes tight and anxiety creeps in.

Will I be good enough? Can I do this? If I get there, will I succeed?

Of course, it doesn't help when there are people who don't believe in you, who are whispering things to get you to change your major or who think they know you well enough and predict that you won't make it.

They are obstacles, and as you come closer to achieving your goal, the obstacles that are attempting to block your path double.

If you need to hear it from anyone if you need a sign from the universe to tell you that your future may be uncertain and the path to get there is scary, but that it will all be worth it in the end? If you came across this article, then take it as a sign. It will be worth it.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
