I Dream Of...

Tonight, someone asked me if I had any dreams or fantasies for the future.

While I didn’t have my life mapped out, chosen my prince charming, predicted how many kids I’ll have, my successful career… I did tell them one thing. I want to travel everywhere. I think it’s a pretty beautiful dream.

I dream of…

Boarding a plane, looking out its window thousand of feet above ground, and feeling the butterflies in my stomach flutter because I know a new adventure begins.

Stamping another page of my passport.

Taking Instagram-worthy pictures of everywhere, everything, and everyone I see.

Eating cultural delicacies (While playing by the rules of my nut allergy, of course).

Spending money on cliche souvenirs and novelties.

Strolling the streets of a different city.

Gazing at the same ocean from a different angle, or a different ocean with a similar perspective.

Explore exotic amazons, trails, forests, mountains…

Meeting and connecting with people native to a place unfamiliar to me.

And write about every part of it.

Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
