My Dream Job
media.licdn.com

After several different types of jobs throughout the years, I have had time figure out what I really want to do with my life. I have come to the conclusion that my dream job would be making others happy. Now I know this sounds kind of funny, but the truth is that I find joy in seeing others truly happy. I ultimately want to leave an imprint in people's lives, regardless of the occupation I choose.

I've worked in the food business, nannied, and am currently working in a factory. Why I understand that having a job is a privilege for people my age, I have had time to reflect on what I truly want to do in life. While babysitting I got to experience the joy of a child and how much happiness I can bring people. When dealing with factory work and food service I realized quickly that this is something I do not want to be doing the rest of my life.

I am thankful for the experiences I have been given because it has shown me what I really want to do the rest of my life, regardless of the occupation I choose. I give credit to people who have the ability and talents to work in those career fields but I know my strengths. Being an outgoing, talkative, and bubbly person,my talents need to be put somewhere useful, and that would be to benefit others.

I think happiness is something that many people are searching for, even myself. It's not easy to find, but with the help others I am on the right track. I want my job to be one filled with positive vibes. So many people are struggling, whether it be with their health, financially, or even in their workplace. Every person deserves happiness and I want to be that small glimpse of hope for a person.

Now I know that my degree I'm pursuing in communications can take me a multitude of different directions, I understand that the pay isn't going to be anything special. Growing up, I was always told to pursue a degree in something that will let me be financially stable and well off. Well, my response to that as the more mature I have become is screw it! Do what makes you happy! If I had chosen a career path solely for the money I know I wouldn't love what I do. Money isn't a factor to me as long as I am able to positively influence and impact those who cross my path.

Now being so young I know that I'm going to have the chance to touch many people's lives in various ways. I can honestly say I am so excited to find a job that I love and know will be my passion. So many people are stuck working at a job that they either hate or stay for the money. What about their own personal happiness? If you don't love what you're doing, why do it? I think every single person out in this world has a special talent. Use your talent and find a job you love. I promise you won't regret it.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
