Morality and virtue have no purposeful value beyond the human mind. They are completely imaginary; therefore, a dream is only useful when it is shared. I would like to say that there truly is no wrong or right to morality and virtue unless you incorporate the existence of yourself, your interests, and your beliefs. At the end of the day, you are a product of your overall sociological construction. Your sociological construction is the formulation of who you are that is shaped by how you were raised, what you were raised to believe, experiences you have had, and how you respond to outside forces. These characteristics are prescribed to you and will stick with you throughout your entire life because they are essentially the building blocks of who you are. However, this does not mean that you are prescribed to be a certain way or believe anything in particular because of these outside forces. It simply means that they are factors of who you are, your interests, and your beliefs!
There comes a time in all of our lives when we being to question who we are, if we are good enough, and if what we're doing is good enough. These are still perfect questions to ask yourself even if you haven't given it much thought. If you are anything like me, you will never be happy with just getting by. This is who I am and I don't think that will ever change. I am an extremely passionate person with my head in the cloud and I do not give a damn about it. Although I am also quite the romanticist, I consider myself a realist when it comes to finding solutions and answering my own questions which brings me to the answer of my own question of, "Will we ever truly know what we're here for?" The answer is no. However, I do in fact believe that we are here to give life meaning.
We are here to give life meaning. We are here to give life meaning. We are here to give life meaning...
As a college student, I endlessly listen to my friends talk about their classes, issues that have come about, what they love, who they love, and what their biggest dreams are. I especially listen carefully when I see their eyes light up as they begin to explain to me what their dreams are. It is such a beautiful thing to see someone you love and care about express what they want to make of this life. It is enchanting to know that there are so many people in this world with pure hearts and brilliant ideas. However, I somehow always notice a drift. I notice the light in their eyes turn back to dust and a hesitance in their breath. I think to myself, "How can this be? How can someone so marvelous not see what potential they have?"
We are here to give life meaning. We are here to give life meaning. We are here to give life meaning...
There's a truth in the way we see the world. We can accept that we will possibly find what we are looking for or we can gear up and push ourselves to the very end. Whatever you do, you need to follow your dreams and find your happiness and I promise you that success will follow. Stop putting so much pressure on who you are, what you are doing, who you are with, and what you are going to do. Take a step back and focus on your morality and virtue. Focus on who you are and what you love and I promise you that your biggest dreams will come true. You are here on this earth for a reason whether your believe it was given to you or you were fortunate enough to have it. You have experienced enough people and places to know yourself more than anyone else and that alone is incredibly special. There will always be conflicts- within yourself and with others; and to me, that is the only reality there is.
... because a dream is only useful when it is shared.
