Many people do not realize how much of a dreamer I am. It all started when I was five years old. I would hopelessly wait at my door for something exciting to happen. I would often sit on the couch and just hope for excitement or a journey to come knocking on the door. My dreams opened a new door for me, as they lead me to be a diligent worker.
As I grew, I realized that life is not as exciting as you thought it could be. My imagination seemed to excite me more than reality. Everyday chores and school were fine, but I wanted more. I dreamed to keep my hopes alive. My dreams never failed me. I would always imagine everything that happened in my dream as impossible.
The moral of the story is that no matter how much you dream, you need to take charge if you want your dreams to become a reality. I would always believe that maybe...just maybe....if I dreamt, and kept dreaming, my dreams would come true. It was not until I was sixteen that I realized I would have to work for my dreams to come true. This did not mean that I stopped dreaming, I just started to focus more on reality than the fantasy aspect.
So how does dreaming make me a hard-worker? It is kind of like a self-motivator tool. I like to think that if I can dream and picture myself achieving whatever I want, then it is possible to do it in real life. Anyone can tell you that you are not capable of doing something, but their opinion should not stop you.
The only person that can stop you from achieving something is yourself. "If you can dream it, you can do it." That is one of my favorite quotes by Walt Disney. He has inspired me to dream and chase after what I believe in.
So my best advice is to dream. Dream to not only picture yourself succeeding but for your own benefit. Dream to be happy and most importantly dream to feel good.
