Dreams. A fabricated reality you create during sleep. I’m not sure what it is about myself, but I always wake up in the morning remembering at least one dream I had while I was asleep. Few, but in some of which, I actually knew that I was dreaming, and in that case, I could do anything and everything and know that there would be no real life repercussions which is a whole new level of feeling free.
Anytime I tell my friends or tweet out one of my dreams, I always get the same response, which is something along the lines of, “Oh my god. You have the coolest dreams.” To give you an idea, here are a few examples. I had reoccurring dreams in which I was Hannah Montana and my secret kept coming out.
In another, I was dating Vin Diesel, and as any other Grey's Anatomy obsessed person, I've had multiple dreams I was performing brain surgery along side McDreamy himself. So I figured it would be cool to start a mini series in which I write out some of my favorite and quite possibly, weirdest, dreams.
Dream 1: The Tonight Show Starring Fallon & Hansen
Let me start by setting the scene. I was in my old school, just sitting in class like any ordinary old school day. I was bored of whatever the teacher was teaching and was envisioning the episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" I had just watched that night when suddenly, I felt a tap on the shoulder.
It was THEJimmy Fallon himself. "Oh my god! You're Abby Hansen. I've been trying to get you on my show for ages!" *insert the famous Jimmy laugh here* Everyone in the class turned around in confusion. "You've got to come to the studio with me!"
Without hesitation, I left the classroom, as any normal person would have done. Turns out, Jimmy's stage was right behind my school. The first thing I did in my dream is the first thing I would do if I ever had the chance to be on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."
I sat at the desk and sipped non-existent water from the mug to my right. As I was just getting comfortable in the chair, Jimmy ran to me in panic. His producer wasn't going to be able to make it in time for the show. Of course, due to the fact it was a dream, I had all the knowledge and talent one needed to be a producer and I produced the whole show that night and got to be a guest.
The show ended and I got a standing ovation that seemed to last at least half of the dream. (Come to think of it, I have a lot of dreams where a crowd is applauding me towards the end. I feel like that says something about myself.) Anyway, after the show ended, Jimmy took me out to a thank you and celebratory dinner at the best 5-star restaurant in NYC... McDonald's...which he apparently owned. After McDonald's, the night wasn't over. We went and saw Hamilton, in which Jimmy played Alexander Hamilton. Then he drove me back to school, and I nonchalantly went back to my seat.
That my friends, is where the dream ended. It's safe to say that when Cinderella said, "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes," this was one of the few times she was very accurate.
