Have you been feeling sluggish, run down, and just want to eat everything in sight? Whenever I am having a rough time in life I just go to astrology to point me in the right direction. Currently in our night sky, Taurus is holding Venus, the Sun, and of course Mercury. Mercury is going through a rough time as well, known as mercury retrograde. Many astrologers groan at the thought of Mercury retrograding. But it is a fact of life, Mercury Retrograde is at time when communication is known to fail, technology goes down, contracts are lost. Overall chaos for a society that prides itself on it's top notch communication skills via technology. This can include, but not limited to, listening, speaking, learning, researching, selling, and buying. Many astrologers say to avoid signing any major deals and getting into any new relationships at this time. Typically things that are started in mercury retrograde end up fizzling out anyway.

With Mercury in Taurus is a tough placement, Taurus is the sign of stability, strength, and slow movement. Taurus typically gets a bad reputation for being lazy and liking food. With the flighty planet Mercury here, it forces the planet of communication to slow down and even come to a screeching halt. Think about the sign Gemini, ruled by mercury, this sign is flighty, communicative, impulsive, and lots of fun. Those traits are being targeted and centered into Taurus. Taurus is the sign of wealth, love, and beauty. So it is imperative that during this time we reflect on our past purchases, and try not to overindulge. Issues from your past can come back to haunt you during Mercury Retrograde, specifically with it being conjunct venus currently.

Issues with love and finances may resurface time and time again when mercury is retrograde. Take a look at the issues in your life, when they happened and what planets were where in your chart. Take a peek at where Taurus is in your natal chart.

You can find your natal chart here: www.astro.com

Find Taurus, then find the "house" it is in. That house represents a certain aspect of your life. For example, Taurus is in my romantic sector, the 7th house. Right now it is sitting in there with Sun and Venus. So Mercury Retrograde is affecting communication with my romantic life. It may not be spot on, but if you look deeper into the issues in your life it all starts to make sense.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?
