You are going to find shows that are essential for the 90s kids. I am only making a short list, but you guys know the good stuff and should take a stroll down memory lane once in awhile. Especially with it being summer break, take a load off, turn on the tv and indulge!
1. Arthur
2. DragonTales
That playroom is something to be amazed by. Did you sit in an awesome playroom and see dragons? Wait you may be doing that in college, if so this is a PSA for you to stop doing drugs. Okay, it’s not a PSA, but you should seriously get more sleep. In case you decide sleep is a no go; do yourself a favor and watch an incredible cartoon of kids having wonderful adventures. Let’s face it you won’t be able to go on an awesome vacation like that until after college. Diversity was promoted in not just the aspect of humans and dragons, but Emmy and Max along with teacher Quetzal are Hispanic. Learning how to work in a team was essential for this childhood treasure. Reading is promoted throughout the show thanks to Cassie and the teacher Quetzal. They even saved the lives of turtles indicating the importance of giving back to the community versus self-benefit. Flying is an everyday occasion of the dragons and the kids that get to ride on them, and I don’t know about you, but I would love to be able to fly.
3. Liberty's Kids
In case you have never seen Liberty’s Kids this is one of my favorite educational cartoons. The only reason it is not listed as number one is because I have encountered a significant amount of people that have not seen this show. First off you can name drop the character list like nobodies business, Whoopie Goldberg, Liam Neeson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Billy Crystal, Ben Stiller, and Sylvester Stallone, this isn’t even the full line up but I feel as though they are the most well known. Growing up as a kid this show turned me into a history buff. I couldn’t resist going down the path of history when the imagery was coming alive for me. I give thanks to this show for creating vivid imagery in my mind whenever I read a story. One thing I want to point out is the aspect that the show is not solely focused on the American story line.
