MISSOURI—
As of 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 42 reports of tornadoes have been made in the Midwest. These tornadoes have been affecting homes, neighborhoods, and causing injuries to civilians. In addition, more than 480 reports of severe wind and hail, stretching from Oklahoma and Arkansas northward into Minnesota and Wisconsin have been reported. As of early Thursday morning, 47 tornadoes have been confirmed but surveys are continuing to count.
More than one dozen injuries have been reported in Oak Grove, Missouri due to an EF3 tornado that touched ground and traveled nearly 12 miles. In neighboring town, Trimble, an EF2 tornado damaged multiple homes.
A significant amount of damage was done north of the Kansas City metro are on Monday evening. An EF2 tornado occurred injuring three people, with an estimated wind of 132 mph.
The tornadoes also caused damage Oklahoma/Arkansas border between Fayetteville and Fort Smith, Arkansas. After cycling, another tornado touched down in Newton County, Arkansas breaking the record for longest track since 2011 with winds estimated at 120 mph.
