Auditioning for a musical or play can seem really scary sometimes, here are some of my tips and tricks to help you out!
1. DO: walk in tall and proud like you know what your doing, (even if you don't)
Casting directors like to see that you can hold yourself to a certain standard and be mature.
2. DON'T: bring in any sort of prop to use with your monologue, or song.
Whoever is doing your audition doesn't want to see you use props, it can be seen as over the top and tacky. they would like to see that you are capable of without the use of props.
3. DO: make eye contact!
Make sure they feel your emotion in your acting and song. it makes them understand what you are trying to communicate in a story teller kind of way.
4. DON'T: be overly nice and giddy.
Make sure to keep it professional! they want to see your maturity as well. act kind but don't go overboard.
5 DO: bring a head shot.
It gives them something to look at when casting, and it helps recognize your face.
Remember that you are talented. Work hard to succeed in what you love doing!
