This weeks article is a little different than normal. Over the course of DJing parties, I have seen it all when it comes to partying. The purpose of my article is to give you some advice on partying if you choose to go out on the weekends.

Some things that you should do:

1. Bring your own drinks if you choose to drink.

Not all places provide drinks and usually, it is much safer to bring your own. This lowers the chance of the use of date rape drugs and other substances.

2. Watch the weather.

You never want to be stuck in that situation where you're freezing cold walking back from a party without a jacket because you decided to leave when it was warm out. Another thing to keep in mind is that most places you go to are much farther from where you live.

3. Have fun.

Many parties can be not so fun. Especially when those around you are not in their best state of mind. Always find your right space to be at night and if you're in a place that you don't like you can always leave.

Some things that you shouldn't do:

1. Drink till you drop:

Consuming alcoholic beverages is something a good amount of college kids do. Not knowing your personal limit can really put you in a bad spot. Know your limit so you don't end up making a choice that could ruin your college career.

2. Not eat and not drink water:

Alcohol is consumed much quicker when your stomach is empty, you are more likely to be sick and get much more drunk without having food in your system. Alcohol also dehydrates you, this leads to hangovers and other health complications. Always have a water on you.

3. Go out alone:

If there is anything that I couldn't suggest more over anything else it would be to not go out alone. If you are consuming alcohol and you are alone you may make a choice that you would not make if someone was with you. Finding your way back to your dorm could become a hassle. It is best to have someone that can watch over you while you watch over them.

All in all stay safe and have a good time!

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
