Moving into a dingy, drab college dorm? Not sure how to make it feel a bit more like home? I’d highly recommend decor. But how does one decorate a dorm? Here are some ideas.

Command strips!

Command strips are your best friend for hanging up things without getting fined for leaving marks on the walls.

Washi tape.

Another cute way to add color to your room without breaking the bank or the wall.

Light!

Add a lamp to your room or some Christmas lights and it’ll look brighter and way more fun. I got a super cute star lamp from Wal-Mart for like $10!

Mirror

Mirrors make the room look a lot bigger and they’re functional too. If your decor does double duty, that's always a plus.

Tapestries

They’re totally in style right now and totally chic!

Art

Make some of your own or have your friends make you some before you leave for college! Make a college out of pictures of your friends and family from home and you'll feel like they’re right there with you.

Ottoman

An extra seat and an extra spot for storage? Sounds like a win to me!

Generally, try to keep the decor minimalist to help the space not look cluttered and make it easier to pack up when you move out. Happy decorating!

Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

It is no secret that many American traditions have changed over time. As we grow older we change in so many ways that it only makes sense that we also change the way we celebrate special occasions. Of course when it comes to the holidays there are some family traditions that many of us still excitedly look forward to, whether it is eating your favorite dish or seeing favorite cousin. However, we all know that the holidays have overall changed a little from what they used to be.
