School, your job, your responsibilities and life in general can make your world chaotic. We are able to make a distinction between good chaos and overwhelming chaos that consumes us. Good chaos is hectic but we see the reward at the end and reap the benefits throughout the hustle and bustle of our task. Overwhelming chaos is like a storm, not a light afternoon shower but instead a dark thunderstorm that seems to never clear up. What do you do when you find yourself in a storm? Do you draw near to God or are you drifting farther away from him? I tell you from experience God does not allow you to go through a storm without the intention of bringing you out of it. When you feel you cannot go any farther and haven given up hope remember these few verses God gives us in the Bible to remind us he is near when we call Him. He will never let us enter a storm he doesn't plan to bring us out of.
1. "Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." Isaiah 46:4
2."I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born, says the Lord." Isaiah 66:9
3. "The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalms 34:18
4. "The pain that you've been feeling, can't compare to the joy that's coming." Romans 8:18
5. "When you feel lost, or troubled, remember that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Pslams 147:3
6. "But he said to me "My grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in weakness."" 2 Corinthians 12:9
7. "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him." Psalms 37:7
These are just a few of the times throughout the Bible God assures us he will see us through anything. No matter how big your storm may be know there are brighter days ahead, the Lord promises that. When you do feel like you cannot continue to whether it seek God, cast your burdens on Him and remember "Now the Lord is the spirit, and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." Have faith and know you are not alone.
