Alrighty folks,
Election Day is here and it is time to voice your opinions. We all know how difficult it has been to watch and listen to these candidates these past few months and certainly weeks. However, a lot of us, like myself, have been silent on social media about their views. It has come time for me to make some noise. Good or bad.
I just want everyone to understand that I will not be fighting on whether candidate is fit enough or better. I want to voice my opinion on why we need to vote this year. Four years ag, when it was Obama vs. Romney and everyone born from January 1st of 1994 to the day of election day, were able to cast their vote for president for the first time. While Obama was up for reelection, Romney was making a lot of noise for the Republicans. While Obama won, there was one major issue that year. No, not another Democrat in the house again or people being unhappy. I know it sounds like I am not a fan of him, but I did like him as a president. However, the issue was that it was lowest voter turnout EVER. Seriously, us millennials had the right to make a sound and disrupt the political system and it was nothing.
This year, the millennials now have the right to make a big decision. While most of us were on the Bernie Sanders train (I know I was), I was disappointed when he was not our main candidate. However, now we are facing two candidates that is dividing the generation. Now, there is talk that this generation could be the deciding factor in this election. But that means, we all need to vote. But not just us, EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO AND VOTE.
Another talk of the town is a possible tie in the electoral votes. Yes folks, a tie. It would be a political nightmare if that was to happen. The only way to prevent the tie from even occurring is if we all go out and do our parts in the country.
I do not want to see another low voter turnout again. And I am sure you do not want to see one as well. Not do not forget that there are other elections happening at the same time. This is one of the most important moments in our nations history and we all need to take part in it.
So please, this Tuesday, go to your voting station and do what is right.
