"New year, new me." We hear it time and time at the very end/beginning of each year. While I understand a new year signifies a fresh start, it doesn't mean you have to wait a whole year to make a change for yourself.
I decided I wanted to be healthier and make better use of my time so I joined a gym and started going a couple times a week, I didn't wait until January 1st to do so, and I'm glad I didn't. Now, there are people that will wait, will join and will stop going about after a month or two, so why even bother?
You should never wait for a new year to do something. Get that gym membership the minute you think about it, start eating healthier the minute you decide that's what you want to do.
Don't wait a whole year to cut toxic people out of your life.
Don't waste a year waiting to make your life better.
I understand resolutions can be helpful to some, and I understand some people really do stick to them but let's be honest, you're not gonna change overnight. It's a new day, not a new life.
So let's leave New Year's resolutions as a thing of 2016. Set goals for yourself to accomplish, like a "2017 to do list" in which you can hold yourself accountable for upholding. "By the end of 2017, I will have a new job or car".
So this year, don't make resolutions you won't stick to but goals you will achieve, and please please do not put them on hold.
