Don't Let Anyone Or Anything Cause You To Lose Focus On God

Don't Let Anyone Or Anything Cause You To Lose Focus On God

A few weeks ago I went to a church service that spent a lot of time talking about this topic. It really hit home for me because there are definitely things I sometimes think about putting before God. It gets even harder for me when I am in a relationship or wanting to strengthen my friendships.

I challenge you to imagine a world without God's presence. Does it seem pleasant and welcoming? Or does it seem dark and scary? Imagining a world without God is absolutely terrifying to me.

We have to understand that if we are putting anyone or anything before God then we need to reevaluate our relationship with him. God is the reason we have all these blessings in our life, and we need to cherish him every day for them. It is okay to have things you are passionate about and love doing but know who gave you those things.

God loves us so much. More than we can even comprehend. When we put something or someone else before him, we are telling God that we do not need him anymore. Or better yet, we are telling him that we only want him when we are struggling.

I have to admit, it is so much easier to run to God when I am struggling. But the pastor at this church made an important statement. Run to God when you are happy and feel like nothing is going wrong. Don't stop focusing on God because something or someone is giving you this happiness.

A common theme in some of my articles is that people will fail you. Sometimes people who you thought would never fail you end up hurting you the most. The one person that will not fail you is God. God is always there for us no matter what season we are going through. Why would you want to lose that?

I guarantee you it breaks God's heart when we decide to push him to the side. He wants us to be happy, but he also wants us to remember we are his children and we need his guidance and love.

Never underestimate the power of God's love for each and every one of us. It is easy to lose sight of God, but if you make an effort to learn more about him, he will take care of you.

I learn something new about God every day. Reading the Bible every day has allowed me to grow in my faith. Whenever I lose sight of God, I will have my Christian friends to lean on. Moral of the story is to always run to God, whether it is good or bad.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
