Why I Don't Like The Warriors

(And not only because I'm a Cleveland fan)

Why I Don't Like The Warriors

In a world where the NBA is dominated by play makers, there’s a lot of competition and a lot of hatred flowing freely. As an avid Cleveland sports fan, I back the Cavs (even though basketball isn’t my favorite sport), so this might make my article a little biased. But, to be honest, I would likely hate the Golden State Warriors regardless of the freshly sprung rivalry between them and the Cavs. I’m a girl who hates cocky players and players who play dirty. I’ve always been a firm believer that you should let your playing and your talent do the talking for you, rather than running your mouth and being full of yourself (I know this is true of a lot of athletes, but bear with me). With that being said, let me tell you the top reasons that I hate the Warriors:

1. They’re really just a bunch of crybabies

One time, Golden State fans called Lebron James a crybaby, but I don’t know how they can throw that insult around when their team is chock full of crybabies. Zaza Pachulia, Draymond Green, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant… must I continue? Any time something goes awry or they don’t get their way, they whine like a teething baby. At least Lebron has embraced his crybaby status (check out Intel’s 360 replay commercial).

2. Zaza Pachulia’s attack on Iman Shumpert’s manhood

Did y’all watch game four this year? Did y’all watch Zaza punch Iman Shumpert in his man parts? If not, here’s a link to the video.

3. Draymond Green

Draymond Green is probably my least favorite basketball player in the world; he claims that he’s “a lot smarter than people think,” but I don’t know how smart a person who consistently aims for other men’s groins can really be. He also talks a lot of garbage on Cavs fans instead of just silencing them with his playing. Most of his comments are just rude, and he has a big mouth on the court but doesn’t always back it up. If you’re gonna talk a big game, you’ve gotta play it, too.

4. Steph Curry’s Mouthpiece

Put. The. Dang. Mouthpiece. In. Your. Mouth.

5. Steve Kerr

Okay, maybe I don’t hate the guy, but he really couldn’t bring himself to coach a game with some back pain? What’s that all about? I’ve had my back completely out of place, yet I’ve gone to work where I stood on my feet for eight hours a day and I didn’t complain about it. Suck it up.

I know that there are a ton of people who hate the Cavs, too, and that’s totally okay! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but dang. I could never root for a team led by a baby-faced point guard (who doesn’t even go by his real name, which is Wardell, for reference) or ball-tapping backups. I just couldn’t. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot of talent on that team, but there’s also a lot of attitude. Anyway, see you next year, Warriors.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.
