Don't Let Those Winter Blues Ruin Your Mood

Winter is upon us, Worcester! Here’s the Assumption College student’s guide to surviving the cold weather…

  • Park your car in the garage. No one wants to scrape the ice off their car before 8:30s!
  • Bring your best boots. We all know that the sidewalks aren’t going be shoveled before class starts so you’ll need your warmest winter boots (or ice skates)!
  • Ramen. And more ramen. Honestly, is it really worth trekking from your dorm to go to Tay’s or Chuck’s? Stay nice and warm in your bed with Netflix and a hot cup of ramen!
  • Buy a Love Your Melon beanie. Nothing is going to protect your head and keep you warm from head to toe like a cozy beanie!
  • Your coat. Obviously.
  • Stock up on cold meds. Chances are, you probably will get sick at some point this winter. Grab some extra Emergen-C, cough drops, and cold medicine for when the time comes!
  • Think of spring break and summer vacation. Warm weather will be here soon, friends! Think of laying on the beach with a drink in your hand to keep your spirit up!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
