Don't Let The Semester Get You Down!

You have bags under your eyes, you're drowning in deadlines, and you feel like giving up. It's the end of the semester and you have to make it to finals week. I don't know about you but I am counting down the days until the end of the semester. Here are some ways that you can ease your way towards the end of the semester.

Manage your time.

Using your time wisely is very crucial at the end of the semester. One slip up can cost you your grade and your sanity. When you find yourself straying away from being productive try to start something else on your list of things to do. When I find myself not working on an assignment I clean my suite or start another assignment so I won't have to worry about it later. Setting an alarm can be extremely helpful when it comes to time management. I tend to lose track of time during my breaks when I take naps, eat lunch, or hang out with my friends. Time can fly by when you and your friends are catching up on all the latest tea from the past week. To avoid losing track I set an alarm for me to know that I should start doing my assignments.

Find out what your distraction is.

Whether it's scrolling on social media for hours or binge watching your favorite show on Netflix you should stay far away from your distraction. If your phone is what distracts you put it on airplane mode. Trust me that YouTube tutorial or Instagram post can wait. Your distraction is going to cause you to waste more time, and we all know time is important. As odd as this may sound my distraction is sleeping. I will sleep for hours knowing that I should be doing work. To avoid catching up on z's I sit in the living room away from my bed to work on my assignments. This helps me to be more productive. Try to find something that will work for you. Once you find out what your distraction is, try your absolute hardest to cut it off.

Take a break.

Taking a break from being productive is just as important as doing your work.Give yourself time to relax. Sometimes when you are constantly doing work it gets hard to concentrate.Try to do something like hanging out with your friends or taking a walk. Make sure to eat a healthy snack and drink some water to refresh your mind. This will also help you to think of new ideas for your assignment. Make sure you eventually get back to your assignments. Too much relaxation can lead to you being unproductive.

With that being said make sure to stay on top of your game. Hang in there, the semester is almost over. You're almost to the finish line.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
