After countless months of snow and cold weather, we expected the summer to rescue us and wrap us in its warmth and fun.
It seems like we have some waiting to do before we can sit back and relax under the rays. There is no joy that comes from being trapped inside due to rain, but if you put your creativity to the test you are sure to find some entertainment enclosed between the walls.
Spring cleaning. Who cares if it is not spring anymore? Clean out your closet and separate your clothes into donation and garbage piles. Once you are done, you can organize it whichever way you prefer and you won’t have to worry about where everything is in the mornings.
Game night. Invite your friends and spend the day playing board games or watching movies. Once the sun sets, you can turn this game night into a party.
Pursue your dream of becoming a master chef. With all this time on your hands, why not invite your significant other and learn how to make your favorite meal together? Once he knows how to make it, you won’t have to make it yourself or get it delivered every time you crave it.
Craft. If you are going to be inside all day, anyway, then take advantage of it. Your future and current littles and g-littles will appreciate it.
Plan your next vacation. It does not matter if this trip becomes a reality or not, spend the day visiting travel and tourism websites to come up with your dream vacation. It will give you a goal to work towards.
Reduce, reuse, recycle. Start recycling everything. The next rainy day, you can turn it into art.
Keep in touch. We all have family members and friends we forget to call or never get to talk to. Don’t lose those connections. Call up those friends and family and spend some time chatting and catching up. They will enjoy knowing they are on your mind.
Plan a romantic, indoor date with your special someone. This is your chance to show your creative side and come up with something simple and fun.
Meditate, do yoga or exercise. Search online for some simple workouts to do at home without using any equipment and get fit. This could be your chance to try the seven-minute workout or relax by meditating.
Go out in the rain and enjoy what it feels like to be a child again! Gene Kelly was not acting when he did this in Singing In The Rain (1952)
Whatever you do, don’t let the rain defeat you! Explore the possibilities beyond this list and have a good time no matter the weather.
