Friends Don't Let Friends Settle

You don't want to settle for less, so don't let your friends settle.

Friends Don't Let Friends Settle

I have done some off-the-wall things in my life and my friends let me. They aren't surprised when I tell them I did something new at this point because they expect the unexpected from me and I can proudly say that I deliver. My friends let me do crazy things because they know that I'm not going to settle for anything less than what I put my mind to, no matter how outrageous it is.

When I talk about boys, all I have to do is look at their faces and it'll either say, "Yes! He seems like he's got everything you want," or it'll read, "Oh God, please don't do it." I often tell my friends to watch their faces because of this reason, but they still refuse to let me settle for less.

Since coming to college, I've adopted the role of the "mom friend" which is a role that I never thought I would have because I wasn't that friend in high school; I'd like to think of myself as the friend who had no filter. I assumed this new role because the friend group shrunk, so strength in numbers couldn't really work to our advantage anymore, but I make sure that my friends are good.

They never let me settle, even when I feel like giving up, they'll lift my spirits and tell me to keep pushing, so as a friend, a best friend, it's my job to make sure they don't settle. I won't let them settle in relationships, school, or work. If they talk to a guy that I get a bad vibe from, they'll know. If they make a low score on a test, they'll know that I'm going to make sure they try harder next time.

I have five of the best friends a girl could ever have, so believe me when I say that I will make sure they don't settle for anything less than they deserve in any aspect of life. They don't let me settle, so I'm not going to let them settle.

Your friend(s) do so much for you throughout your life, so while you may come across as mean, opinionated, blunt, or whatever else, you have their best interests at heart just like they have yours. Don't let your friends settle.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
