Silence.
To some people, silence is the sweetest sound in the world.
To others, silence is the deadliest noise in the world.
To Eunha, the silence she was experiencing was scary. She didn't know what to make of it. It was bipolar in every aspect. When she hugged the life out of Eric, the silence was sweetening...it was comforting. Now, she sat there next to Eric on his bed in the deadliest silence. It made her panic and the fear of asking Eric anything made her want to die.
How could a gentle black-haired boy be this deceiving? How could he be loving one minute but alarmingly frightening the next?
Eunha's phone rang in the midst of the eerie atmosphere, making Eric's eyes glare at her at his side. She could feel his eyes burning holes in her skin and it hurt. Eunha snatched her phone and ran out of his room to the kitchen.
"Eunha!" The ear-piercing voice was clear to her.
"Damn it Lilly! What?" Eunha whisper-yelled trying to check over her side if Eric was burning holes in her again.
"Why are you whispering?"
"Because I'm focusing on a project?!" Lilly hummed in the background.
"Why did you leave the house so quickly? What happened?"
"Lillian, I'll tell you everything later. Right now I need to focus on my project." Eunha was trying to hurry the conversation.
"But-" Eunha cut her off, "Bye Lilly."
Eunha turned around to head back upstairs and found Eric leaning against the stairway, watching her. He got off and went to fetch a glass of water. Eunha was frozen in her place watching him just get a glass of water. He seemed unbothered, excluding the modest interaction they shared earlier today.
"We need to talk." Was all he said as he went back to his room, showing no signs of emotion like he did before.
Petrified, Eunha followed to his room and sat down next to him on his bed. She took a quick glimpse of him drinking his water. That glimpse soon turned to a full look. Every detail was being processed in her mind as if it were a movie. His adam's apple bobbing up and down after every gulp of water, the sunlight shining his black hair, and his beautiful pale skin basking under the sun. His eyes closed but looking closer, it held the desire to take in all the water furtively. It was as if an angel had been brought to her.
Eric felt her peering at him and stopped, "Yes?"
Eunha noticed her mistake and looked away in shyness, afraid to peek back.
"You can look."
Eunha turned slowly, her cheeks bright pink again.
"Why were you crying?"
Eunha didn't know how to explain to him about herself, her life, how she's constantly miserable.
"It's hard to explain."
"I can wait all day, Eunha." Eric retorted back. She froze in her place, not knowing whether to continue or not.
Ten minutes went by without a single word spoke, without a dent in the project, nothing happened.
At the fifteen minute mark, Eunha pulled herself together. She began to talk.
"It's hard for me. My mother and brother died in a car accident and now I live with my dad. All was great before then. Now, it's a living hell Eric. My father hates me and abuses me and the only friend I have is Lilly. You know her brother well, I'm guessing? It's hard to see them as siblings, so nice to each other. So to answer your question, I came here crying because I miss my brother."
Eric didn't speak a word. Instead, he left the room.

Eunha waited for thirty minutes and there was no sign of him returning. She figured this would be the best chance to explore the unknown house. She walked through the kitchen, the living room, the hallways. Nothing captured her attention, well that was until she was met with an alluring garden and swing set. She looked in both directions of the hallway to see if Eric was anywhere near.
