I Don't Know How To Write Poetry

I don't know how to write poetry.

I am no good at this stuff.

My poetry's mediocrity,

My rhyming is a bluff.

I don't know how to write poetry.

This just isn't my thing.

My poems have no symmetry,

I'd be better off trying to sing,

I don't know how to write poetry.

Sometimes I share too much heart.

My poems come out all cheesy.

And I never know where to start.

I don't know how to write poetry.

It's like sharing a journal page.

It feels like too much honesty.

You see my heartbreak, joy and rage.

I don't know how to write poetry.

My words aren't pretty enough.

It all sounds just a little too choppy.

Never smooth, always too rough.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
