There's a million things I would rather do than wait for a text back from Chad in Sigma Apple Pie.

If you are like me, being single on Valentine's Day is really nothing out of the ordinary. February 14th is just another day to us. I've only had a boyfriend for one Valentine's Day in my entire life actually. Although it was nice to have flowers delivered to me at school, and someone to hang out with, I honestly don't feel like I'm missing out on anything extraordinary.

I think most of us can say that as a little kid, Valentine's Day was absolutely spectacular and something we definitely looked forward to every year. The day before we would spend so much time with our classmates constructing and decorating our cute little mailboxes and writing out cards to hand out to everyone in the class.

Then the day of, I always remember the classroom being decorated so exquisitely, and stocked with cookies and candy. If I were a teacher, I would definitely go ham on Valentine's decorations. At some point in the day, we would have our class party where we had the chance to pass out our cards to all of our friends and eat candy. Lets be honest, this was the chance to shoot your shot at your elementary school crush - I'm talking about you, Carl.

But as the years passed, and I lost all hope in true love - ok that's a little dramatic, but lets be honest - the day just didn't seem special to me. Every year my social media is flooded with tons of couples pictures, and long sappy posts about how they love their significant other, and that's fine! I am so happy for those couples, I truly am!

For me though, I am perfectly content with getting food, putting on a good show, and snuggling up with my cat for the night. I would rather do that than to waste my time on a guy who would probably ghost me in less than a month anyways.

Don't get me wrong though, when the right guy comes into my life I would totally be down for celebrating this so called holiday. I'm just not going to go out of my way to find another lonely and bored soul to spend it with.

So if you're like me and single as a Pringle, don't worry! Theres always next year, so for now just embrace your single status and cuddle up on the couch with your favorite show. Next thing you know it'll be St. Patricks Day and we can drink our sorrows away, if you're into that kind of thing.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
