The most common reason you find people unable to do anything because they have to work. Understandable. But then you start hearing them complain about going to work and what they do at work. They complain about the hours and who they work with. They just have a job to make money in something that means nothing to them.

Although I fit under the category of making money in a minimum wage job, I don't consider what I am doing a job or work. I don't have a job, I have a passion that pays. I currently am working within something I am planning to do for the rest of my life.

Yes, I first applied for the job just looking for patient care hours for grad school, but I have truly found my passion. The work involves things I will be doing in my future and teaching me life lessons along the way. I also have found friends and mentors. I have made what feels like family members with the patients. They make me smile, have taught me and helped me more then I can for them. I tell people what I do to make money and they all say I should be paid more for what I do. But honestly, I could get paid nothing and still do this everyday. Because I didn't just find work, I found my passion.

I regret not finding this work earlier. I wish I would of known about this "job" earlier. I wish someone would of told me about this earlier. I wish I would have reached out earlier to find this job instead of just working for the pay. So here is my life lesson for anyone looking for work currently: stop. Stop looking and start asking around. Start looking into things that interest you and your future. There are so many more options out there involving what you will do in the future if you just ask and look around for that. Don't look for the pay or something easy that your friend said is looking for employees, look for the thing you love. You will be happier then your friends, you will pick up hours out of enjoyment, you won't complain ever. Find that something you enjoy, and go for it. Find that passion, not that job.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
