DO NOT GET TIED DOWN. I repeat--DO NOT GET TIED DOWN. Simple, right?
Noooooo. I am not referring to a relationship. Or a job. Or a friendship. I am talking about something so much bigger than those things. I am talking about the world itself.
The world has so much to offer, yet if we allow it to tie us down, we will surely let all the amazing things around us, pass us by.
There are so many amazing things that the world has to offer. Friendships, exploring, traveling, finding a passion, or even lending a helping hand, can brighten our lives so much. If you find yourself excited for each day to come to an end so that you can start the next day of "to-do lists", "tasks", and commitments, then I am sad to inform you, but you have allowed the world to tie you down.
There is one problem I have found within the world today--it is so easy to get "tied down". I see it each and every day and often fall victim to it myself. And let me tell ya, being tied down sucks.
By the phrase "tied down" I mean by the weight of the world. Instead of seeing, doing, helping, and exploring, we often get into these day-to-day routines, that are so hard to break. Yes, routines are great and help keep us on track, but if we constantly do the same things each day, then we are missing on all the small, yet amazing, things that the world has to offer.
I constantly see people, especially the younger generations, walking around glued to their phones. Literally. They do not even look up to share a smile when passing by, or notice the blue sky with minus clouds. They miss the finer things in life. Being tied down to the weight of the world really gets to people. It makes us afraid to try new foods because "that's not something we think we would like", or makes us afraid to travel because "the people there aren't like me". DO not let your comfort zone keep you from enjoying all that the world has in store for you.
Yes, our comfort zone feels so much better than stepping out of it--that is why it's called a comfort zone. If you never leave that "comfort zone" how will you ever broaden your horizons and break the chains of monotonous day-to-day tasks? You will never.
So I encourage you, along with myself, to break the chains that society, technology, and the world has placed on us. Get out and do something different. Do not get stuck in that trap of just living for the end of each day so that you can go to bed.
Go for a walk. Be a friend. Go somewhere you have never been. Try something you have never tried. Do not let the weight of the world get to you and keep you "tied down" to it.
