During these last two months of the year, whether they are cold or hot we are all in the spirit of giving. Black Friday kicks off the frenzy of Christmas shopping and the holiday season. During this season we spend and spend on our family and friends, but sometimes forget about those less fortunate.

No matter what town you find yourself in there is a homeless person, a child or family in need. Sometimes we get caught up in the hustle and bustle and forget about them.
There are many ways to donate directly or indirectly to these families. There are always soup kitchens and volunteer work to be done, but there are other ways to contribute. Your local grocery store might have an option to donate to a local food bank. Toy drives for children in foster homes. Churches may be collecting toiletries and toys for families as well.
Most recently, I was visiting family in Houston and on the street was a parade of low rider cars with Pancho Claus handing out gifts to children that came out. My aunt told me that the Pancho Claus has been doing this for years. It's one of many traditions that neighborhoods and towns have all around the country. Although you may not see the person or family when they receive their gifts, but they appreciate them more than they could ever explain.
Take time to give this holiday season.
