Lately, I've been being reminded of how much God loves me. God looks out for me, He is constantly building my character and my faith. He wants to talk with me, talk to me and most importantly, He wants to listen to my every thought. God is patient with me (so incredibly patient). God never turns me away even when I'm in my car yelling at Him in anger and crying out from the depths of my heart. God adores me. He makes every single sunset for me. He creates the beautiful flowers and inspiring landscapes just because He wants me to see them. God's love for me is endless and immeasurable.
The thought of God's love for us, despite our sinful nature, is encouraging. He is constantly drawing us to Him and proving his admiration for us. God is perfect love and He demonstrates that every day.
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us," (Romans 5:8). In the Bible, we find countless pieces of evidence and passages that point to God's unconditional love for us. But what have we done to deserve it? Absolutely nothing. We are sinners. We are born with sinful and evil hearts, yet, He still loves us.
The Bible says that God knows the number of hairs each of us has on our heads (Matthew 10:29-31), He has a great plan for us all (Jeremiah 29:11), He has called us by name before we were even thought of by our parents (Isaiah 43:1 and Psalm 139), and He has our names written on the palms of His hands (Isaiah 49:16).
Come on, let's face it. Nobody else loves us that much. Nobody knows us as fully and deeply as the Lord. God knows us better than we know ourselves, yet, He loves us more than we can imagine and infinitely more than anybody could ever adore and care for us.
We don't deserve such a perfect God. There is no other king that would give his throne to common people. There is no other father that would sacrifice His own child to save unworthy sinners. There is no other groom that would keep running back to the bride who chooses everything but him, and who isn't loyal, loving, or faithful to him. We do nothing to deserve His goodness but He still gives it to us freely.
But that's the beauty of His character. We do nothing to deserve His faith, trust, hope, admiration, patience, grace, love or holiness. There is nothing we can do that will make us worthy of that (Romans 11:6). God knows that we do nothing to make us worthy of His love, yet He gives it to us freely.
Although we don't deserve God's love, grace, mercy and kindness, He is always faithful to give it. When we find ourselves going through hard times and struggling to find purpose and thinking that we deserve nothing, God is always there to speak truth into our lives. He tells us that we are not worthless and that we are His masterpiece. He tells us that we are beautifully designed and made in His image. We are loved, and taken care of, and found blameless in His sight (Colossians 1:22). The only thing we can really do to "repay" Him for His love is to live a life fully dedicated to Him.
His love knows no bounds (1 Corinthians 13:7-10). All we can do is embrace it and be immersed in His admiration of us. When we dedicate ourselves to Him fully, He will start to perfect His love in us. Our desires will start to line up with His and we will want to love like Him. We will start to reflect the character of Christ to others naturally, and that is one of the greatest desires and skills we can have. God admires us and adores us. He creates every sunrise and sunset for us. Every flower that blooms is for us. We can see His fondness towards us in every simple design on this earth because it is made for us. When we feel that we are unworthy or unloved, let us remember to Whom we belong. We are made by the Maker of the universe and love. Let that be a constant reminder to us as we live everyday.
