I Don't Care If There's A White Christmas

Doesn't matter where I am, as long as I am with my family.

Don't get me wrong, I love the snow. I think it's absolutely beautiful and certainly adds to the holiday vibe. Waking up to a white Christmas does sound perfect, but I don't care about that. Most Christmas', I have spent my time at the beach and woke up on Christmas Day to a sunny day with sand everywhere. I don't care what the weather is like or where I am during the holidays... I just care if I am with my family during it all.

I can spend time with them and watch Christmas movies that always (they pretty much have to) have a white Christmas and when that's done, be able to spend a day at the beach with them. The weather isn't always perfect (it's not incredibly hot), but just the right temperature to enjoy the beach in December.

I like being able to spend quality time with them during the holiday break where I know my sister and I are off of school and mom was able to get off for a few days to head to the beach. We can see the snow any other time during the winter, but on Christmas? I like spending it at the beach with my family. Or anywhere for that matter and be with my family. That means more to me then anything else is that I get to spend Christmas with my family.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
