We all admire certain people as individuals. This will depend on many things in a person's life, like how they were raised and perhaps even hardships they have endured.

These women inspire me because they are strong, passionate, hardworking, and beautiful inside and out.

Reneé Rapp

For my non-theatrical friends, Reneé Rapp is an American actress who is best known for playing Regina George in Mean Girls on Broadway. Reneé is only 20 years old with a killer voice, amazing spirit, and many encouraging messages to young girls.

The moment I heard her voice I thought it sounded like pure power. She is the definition of girl power. Her attitude and kindness are the perfect mixture of "the sweet girl" and badass.

Reneé also speaks out for what she believes in. One of my favorite topics she speaks out about is positive body image. She also is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in, and this is the kind of confidence that needs to be seen by young women everywhere.

Jennifer Aniston

I am hope we are all aware of the queen herself: Jen Aniston. Jennifer is best known for her role in Friends as Rachel Green, as well as many other hit movies.

I admire Jennifer for many reasons. She is a strong individual who is as beautiful as she is talented. Jen is an amazing person who is an inspiration to aspiring actresses like me. Love you, Jen!

Anne Hathaway

The last actress I want to talk about is the talented Anne Hathaway. My favorite movies Anne has been involved in include The Princess Diaries and The Devil Wears Prada.

Anne was a very strong influence to my younger self. She was always the character in the movies who rose from nothing to be something. A strong women who fought her way to the top. This made me want to be regal and stand up for myself.

Her warm smile and kind heart caught my attention from the start. She is a powerhouse in Hollywood.

Why these women inspire me

These women are my heroes! They taught me to speak out about the things that matter to me, to be a diva sometimes, to love without judgment, and so much more. These are just a few of the many women I admire and want to be like someday.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
