Vacations became a thing far before I was born. However, vacationing during a pandemic is different. Questions are going through my head such as what will be open, did I pack enough mask, and will I be able to to successfully social distance. All things I have never had to worry about in the past. So, as I pack my bags I continue throwing in extra mask, food, and clothing to prepare for the unknown.
I love traveling, but now isn't the time for new adventures. However, with a trip planned in February and time going fast my friends and I wanted to do something special to end our freshman year. After looking a map, we found what towns hadn't had any cases and declared we would stop for gas in those towns. Next, we decided on where to go.
Being in a public place didn't sound like the best idea to us. Therefore, we searched for a place we could have to ourselves with private beach access. Although there might be a couple other people around us, we figured going to a private beach would be easier to social distance at than a public beach. We have done our best to plan a safe but fun trip all in a three day span.
All in all, I am quite anxious but excited to see how our socially distanced trip goes.
