After Covid-19 shut the world down over a year ago, concerts and festivals have been out of the question. However, with 97.6 million vaccinated Americans who got at least their first dose, and major festivals like Bonnaroo releasing lineups for this year, there may be hope for the music industry.
Although concerts look like they're set to return this year, music insiders have mixed opinions. According to the Rolling Stone, some think it's possible that they won't return until early 2022. This makes sense from an insider standpoint, as maximum profits are impossible with a reduced capacity. Bonnaroo released their September 2021 lineup on March 31st, with the disclaimer that anyone who attends would be knowingly at risk of Covid-19.
As far as the summer goes, it seems unlikely that we will be back to normal, seeing our favorite artists live. However, as more Americans are getting vaccinated, I don't think Bonnaroo's fall dates are out of the question.
Keep your fingers crossed!
