5 Celebrities And Public Figures Who Live With Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

In This Article:

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (aka EDS) is a rare connective tissue disorder that usually affects the skin, joints, and blood vessels. Symptoms commonly include hyper-mobile joints that are prone to dislocations, widespread joint and muscle pain, highly elastic skin that tears and bruises easily, etc. Due to it being a rare disease, EDS isn't usually represented in the media other than a lone appearance in the subplot of ane episode of "Grey's Anatomy" or "House M.D.". When a celebrity or public figure speaks out about their experience with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome it is a huge deal within the community because it often gives others the opportunity to educate those around them about this rare disease. These celebrities are helping bring awareness to Ehlers-Danlos syndrome by being incredibly candid and outspoken about their personal experiences.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
