Tips To Help Lose Weight For This New Year

It is finally 2020, here starts the new year, new me resolutions! Many of us are most likely wanting to lose weight for this new year to feel great about our bodies and overall feel happy in our own skin. There are many different ways to lose weight but here are 3 big ways to start with your weight loss journey.

1. Water

I can not express this enough but water is so important when it comes to losing weight. Drinking water helps boost your metabolism, cleanse your body of waste, and acts as an appetite suppressant. If you drink water Also, drinking more water helps your body stop retaining water, leading you to drop those extra pounds of water weight. If you are someone that struggles with drinking water, my best advice to you is to drink very cold water. Having water that is super cold refreshes you and helps get it down. Since the water is so cold, it tricks your mind into thinking it's just a nice and refreshing drink. The more water you can drink the better the outcome will be.

2. When You Weigh

When you begin to lose weight, you may find the need of wanting to weigh yourself daily, or even twice a day. However, frequent weighing can be more damaging than can it be helpful and here's why. Due to the time of day, you will weigh different. In the morning, you are at your lightest weight for the day. In the evening, you are at your heaviest. That being said, it is best to weigh yourself at the end of each week. Weigh yourself at any time on Monday, and then weigh yourself again on Sunday. You will most likely get results you want, even if it is just a few pounds. Those few pounds can be super encouraging for you to keep going in your journey.

3. What You Eat

The last tip is usually the hardest for most people to accomplish. This is watching and controlling what you eat, how much of it, and when. When it comes to losing weight, it can be easy to start watching what you eat, but overtime it can become expensive and you even lose interest. When you decide to get a plate of food, remember this saying, "Eat until you're satisfied, not until you're full". If you can train your stomach to not intake as much as it can, your stomach will begin to shrink and you won't be as hungry as you usually are. With that in mind, it is best to avoid things high is sugar. Sugar will be your weakness when you're trying to lose weight, so it is best to try your hardest to avoid it.

I hope that these tips help you get started, and I wish you the best of luck to achieve your goal weight! Anything is possible if you put your mind to it, and aspire for what you want, and not for what others expect out of you. It'll only get easier over time, and I know that you can do it.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
