Why You Should Donate To St. Jude's

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a children's hospital located in Memphis, Tennessee. St.Jude is solely dedicated to the research and treatment of catastrophic pediatric diseases, such as cancer, sickle cell, hemophilia and other life altering disorders. Their research has improved cancer survival rates by more than ninety percent since opening. In addition to providing life saving treatment, they never bill patients for their treatment, travel and lodging. They are totally, One hundred percent, funded by donors like you and myself.

I have had two, life changing opportunities to visit this hospital, as a tourist and fundraiser coordinator, and each time has been eye opening. You walk in the front doors and are greeted by a mixture of smiling faces at the front desk as you sit and wait next to patients, most under the age of ten, and their families in a bright, open, waiting room.

You begin your tour by walking through treatment rooms, all brightly painted with murals of different seasons and scenery, filled with smiling, hopeful patients.Next is the blood donation room, where the public can come donate blood that goes directly to St. Jude patients. You then see occupational therapy rooms, where kids learn how to be kids, and a special room designated just for kids, where no doctors are permitted. You then enter the Chili's Care Center, where you will rub the nose of the stautue of founder, Danny Thomas, then finally end the tour by viewing the artwork created by patients, including the "ABC's of cancer", which includes "K for Kemo" and "V for vomit" and "L for lil miracles"

This amazing, hope filled, life saving hospital is completely funded through donors like you and myself. If you are thinking about donating to any organization, I highly encourage this one, to ensure that a lot less "kemo" is needed and that a lot more "lil miracle" happen.

Please donate to St. Jude to help save these children.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
