Donald Trump has been making headlines from the moment he started running for the GOP Candidate spot. I have lost count of how many times I have seen him trending on Facebook, and how many posts my friends on Facebook have shared written about him. Personally, I am a big believer in if we do not talk about it, he/she (whoever is making the headlines) will just eventually be quiet. You know, the whole bullying thing where if you do not react to the bully, the bully will eventually stop torturing you.
So throughout the past months, I have tried to ignore his quotes and the way he views what is good/bad for America. But let me just preface this: He can have any sort of an opinion he wants. He's a human being, I'm not going to deny that. However, what he lacks is the fact that he is running to be the President of the United States. And as President of such a nation, he needs to learn to keep some of those opinions to himself. I don't see Obama tweeting or posting on Facebook about every single thing he has an opinion on. No, he is the President, and as President, he needs to learn to pick and choose his battles. Of course, he has a Secretary of Press so everything he wants to write probably gets filtered through, but doesn't Trump have one too? If he doesn't, then he really needs to get one and stop believing in that he can say whatever he wants to say. If he does...well, that person needs to do a better job.
Imagine if the Muslim countries of the world suddenly goes, "We are going to ban all people who come from a Christian believing country," or "We are going to ban all Christians." What would our society say? Well, for starters, America might end up declaring war on those countries and we might even end up severing business ties with large industries like oil. Thank goodness the actual POTUS didn't say what Trump said, because that might have end up happening to us if Obama said something as stupid and senseless as what Trump said.
In my mind, there is only two real reasons why Trump is a forerunner for the GOP:
1. He says so many stupid and senseless things that he is using those ideas and opinions of his to generate traffic and buzz.
2. He's rich.
And what is unfair is that there probably are GOP candidates who are talking about real things, talking about real changes that can be constitutionally upheld, that are overshadowed by Trump's money and his opinions. We don't see those candidates trending.
I don't want to diss Trump as a human being. He may well just be a very kind-hearted man who wants America to be as great as it can be. But as a Presidential candidate, he is an American Hitler.
I apologize to Trump supporters for my harsh words. However, if you support Trump, you are not supporting the Constitution of America. I believe America is a country of dreams, of acceptance, and of equality. But Trump stands for none of that. And you say he does, then maybe you should urge him to show it. Because if he continues on this streak, Australia is about to get a lot more citizens.
