Dear Mr. President ...

Dear Mr. President,

Since the day you began your campaign for President you have been blaming everyone else for your problems and mistakes. This needs to stop. America voted you in on November 8, 2016 in hopes of "Making America Great Again", as your campaign slogan stated. Yet since your inaguration, you have defended a dictator claiming to have struck a denuclearization deal; You allowed children to be separated from their families; you have set a precedent that it's ok to have affairs or harass/assault women as long as they stay quiet with your money. You claim you're bringing jobs back to the United States, but I can name multiple companies that still send work abroad. When does this end? Please be the President America needs and wants.

June 12, 2017 is a historic day for both the United States as well as North Korea. On this day, a so-called agreement was met between you, Mr.President, and foreign dictator Kim Jong Un at a summit in Singapore. Yet, this so-called agreement that you made is not set in stone. Its merely Kim Jong Un's word v.s. your's, Mr. President. You have defended Kim Jong Un as the agreement is supposedly to denuclearize the Korean peninsula in exchange for peace throughout Korea. I would like you to know that Americans don't trust Kim Jong Un, and you have done nothing to settle the nerves. Rather, you have defended Kim Jong Un to the media and the country when you should be condemning him. Kim Jong Un is accused of murdering his own brother, along with 300 people and 5 senior security officials in a 5 year span. He can't be trusted when in April of 2017, Kim Jong Un fired a ballistic missile sending a warning to the United States. With Kim Jong Un's track record, it can only be assumed by the American people that he is dangerous. So, what should we think about your agreement?

It was understable to have immigration reform policy on your ticket to the presidency as many Americans were concerned about our borders. However, your policy reform allowed children to be separated from their parents and held inhumanely. Many of the doctors working with the children have presented to the news, and are explaining that this separation is causing toxic stress. Toxic stress can lead to short term and eventually long-term health complications. Full families are being ripped apart for trying to give their children a safer, better life than they would receive in their home countries. Your wife, Melania, even made a statement to news outlets saying, "We should govern with our hearts". All I ask of you is to put yourself in their shoes. How would you feel if you were a 4-5 year old child being ripped from your parents and held hostage? Those who are being held are only trying to flee their countries where they will not have a healthy and safe opportunity to prosper. Their home countries lack economic opportunity, have high crime rates, and are even unhealthy for some to live their. The immigrants are not coming here because they want to commit a crime, but because they fear it's their only option for life.

Mr. President, you claim "If we are weak the country will be overwhelmed with people." But what would you rather have on your conscious and marked in the history books; The president that separated children from their parents or the president that enforced it.The locations along the border that are used for detainment have reached concentration camp status because of the conditions being faced. Concentration camps were used in germany by the Nazi's. Last checked, we are not the Nazi's in 1934. You need to put this to an end. The United States deserves to be known as a world superpower, a place of freedom and opportunity. We cant even be called a superpower anymore because of the foreign relations we've lost while you have been in office.

The United States is in your hands, Mr.President. The nation voted you in with the hopes of having an honest, hardworking man that's not a common player in the game of politics. Someone that can lead this country unlike past presidents. But you are not honest and the most work you've done while in office is hide your harassment/ assault accusations. At least 12 women have come forward with accusations. These accusations are beginning to become a real problem. It's not a girl trying to take your money or have a moment in the spotlite. These are real accusations to only be taken seriously. By paying women off such as Stormy Daniels, you have set a precedent that it's normal to cheat on your wife. That it's normal to touch women inappropriately without consent. Do you want men doing to your daughter what you have done to other women? Mr.President, it's not ok to pay someone off for their silence. So why do you make it seem normal? Be honest with your country and yourself. Face your crimes.

The nation is losing companies because its cheaper and easier to make their products elsewhere. The campaign slogan "Make America Great Again" was backed with the idea that jobs would be brought back to America. If that is true, GM shouldn't still be making cars and parts in Mexico. Oreo would return to the United States. Carrier, Morgan Stanley, IBM, Lowe's, and GE, are just some of the many major companies sending jobs to other countries. All of the companies mentioned have yet to receive consequences worthy of coming back to the U.S.

Mr.President you have not been honest and forthcoming with your great nation. You have been deceitful, and unworthy of the power at which you yield. These are just a few of the problems being faced. Help our country Mr.President. Make a legacy for yourself or our nation. Be worthy of the office you were voted into. Be what this nation needs right now.

Sincerely,

A girl wanting better things for her country.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
