A must visit to one of the best bakeries in NYC

On an early Wednesday morning I went to visit one of the best ranked bakeries in NYC. This bakery is located in New York’s Soho District. They have numerous types of desserts and pastries that are freshly made everyday, but the most famous pastry they sell is called a cronut. They dedicated an entire section of their website just for this pastry because it is so high in demand. It is a half croissant, half doughnut. They make a limited amount everyday and sell out quickly in the morning.

I did not want to miss my chance of getting a cronut so me and my best friend traveled on a 6:00 am train and ferry and made our way to the bakery by 7:45am. The second the doors opened at 8am it got very busy. Thankfully I successfully bought my cronut and it tasted amazing. It’s rich in flavor, buttery, and sweet and had the most unique flavor and texture that I have ever tried. I highly recommend going early and trying this amazing bakery. Here is a list to show the top three items on their menu.

1. Cronut: There is only flavor of the Cronut pastry every month. For the month of November the flavor is Maple Pecan with salted sugar. $5.50

2. Cookie Shot: served warm with cold-infused tahitian vanilla milk. They only serve them past 3.00pm. $3.00

3. Frozen S'more: honey marshmallow wrapped around a tahitian vanilla ice cream with chocolate wafer crisps, served on a smoked willow wood branch and torched to order. $7.00

They have hundreds of different pastry options such as cakes, pies, croissants, eclairs, ice-cream, cookies, soufflés, tarts, and so much more. They are all beautifully presented through a clear glass. I highly suggest waking up early and making a sweet visit to the Dominique Ansel Bakery.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
