Dollar Store Organization Ideas

I could probably spend a whole week in the dollar store alone. I LOVE that place. Especially when you get a little creative, the things you can make with items from there are endless. Being a mom who works full time as well a college student, I feel like I hardly have time to breathe, let alone be organized. These ideas are ones you have to make once, and from then on they are there for you to make life easier. Who wouldn't want that?

1. Ice Cube Trays

There are so many different ways to use these. You can usually find these 3 for $1 too! Earrings, rings, buttons. etc.

2. Shoe Holders

These are great for all over the house, or dorm. Use it for cleaning supplies, toys, shoes, canned food, almost anything.

3. Pool Noodles

I don't know about you, but I hate when my boots don't stand up on their own. It seems to take up more space. Find a pool noddle and cut it into 12 inch pieces or so, depending on how tall your boots are. Stick them in and they stand right up!

4. Small Storage Bins

There are many different varieties of storage bins you can usually find at your local dollar store. Use them like normal, or hang them on your wall with the bottom side touching. Use them as towel holders, toy holders or for decor!

5. Shower rings

Buy a pack of shower rings and simply add them to your closet bars. Hang your scarves or even tank tops on them and save space.

6. Picture frame to-do list

Need a more creative idea for a calendar or to-do list? Look no further than a simple picture frame. Use dry erase markers and cute design paper in the frame for a classy, unique look.

7. Glass jars

These have endless uses. Q-tips, makeup brushes, toothbrushes, cotton balls, etc. Use them in the kitchen, bathroom, office, almost anywhere. Add beads or sand to match whatever room they are going in and there you have it!

8. Shower rod

Use a shower rod, curtain hangers and baskets (all found in the dollar store) to create extra storage in your shower.

9. Silverware holder

These are so great. If you live in a house with roommates, use these to separate your toothbrushes. Organize your makeup, hair ties, bobby pins and whatever else you need.

10. Basket w/ handle

For those of you with kids, these are perfect for traveling. Organize their toys and DVD's. Even better, these are great when you are eating on the go. Put all their food in so it can sit easily on their lap and avoid messes. These are also great for cleaning supplies and easy to carry from room to room.

11. Clothes pins

This is by far my favorite one. Some string/ribbon and clothes pins and you can organize your scarves, tank tops and even leggings. Way better than having them in a drawer, this way you can see everything you have.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.

April Ludgate
Facebook

April Ludgate from Parks and Recreation is notorious for her "I don't care" attitude. She speaks her mind without caring what anyone thinks of her. Fans love her because she isn't afraid to be herself. April can seem cold and negative, but she's really just fearless and strong-minded. And despite her sometimes harsh words, April truly cares about the people she's closest to. These are all reasons she is the epitome of a college student. April complains whenever she has to do any kind of work, but ends up doing the work anyway. April Ludgate is the ultimate college student spirit animal.

Life is all about twist and turns, sideways and which ways. Nothing is permanent, so we should take risks, and chase our dreams. We are taught at a young age many lessons that will follow us into adulthood. What we aren't taught is how to feel, and how we handle those emotions. We just have to figure them out ourselves, and that's not fun. In my 21 years of living, I have come to know that way too many people can't handle emotions, or the fact that not everyone is dead inside like them. When you're like me, and you have zero control over your emotions, it's hard to feel comfortable around people who aren't so in touch with themselves. As much as I would like to feel nothing at times, I've accepted who I am and the fact that I can cry over practically nothing. So, there are some things in life that you just have to do.
