I'm Doing What's Best For Me Now And I Won't Apologize For It

When you are in your twenties, stress happens... like, a lot. You become overwhelmed and unmotivated. You may cancel plans. You may lash out. When these situations arise, you have to do what's best for you and only YOU to get yourself back on track and in the right mindset. I have realized over the last few weeks that it is completely OK to remove stressors in your life if they are only making a negative impact on your life and your health, may that be physical, mental or both.

I have been trying to make too many plans because I feel bad that I haven't had time to see all of my friends, but at the same time, I haven't given myself the me-time I deserve. I need those few hours to myself to just unwind, relax, and watch TV and not worry about driving somewhere and being there at a certain time and getting dressed and having to pretend that I'm not thinking of all the millions of things that I have to accomplish. Don't get me wrong, I love my friends, but I also need to love myself, too.

I've taken up working out more, even if that meant getting out of my comfort zone and doing it by myself. I want to look good and feel good. And working out also reduces sleep and definitely helps me sleep better. Without sleep, I don't function well, as I'm sure many of you don't either.

Everything is connected and if we don't take care of things things that are affecting us negatively, then we're not really taking of ourselves either.

You come first. Your health comes first. Your happiness comes first. Do what's best for you and whatever you do, do NOT apologize for it!

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.
