It's very easy to get down on yourself with you constantly feel like you're doing your best and trying your hardest - hell, you might even feel like you're absolutely killing it! - and no one stops you to say good job. It can be really disheartening and you might think to yourself, why am I even trying this much? If no one is noticing the work that I'm doing and putting into this, why should I keep going? Even though you sometimes work incredibly hard and feel like nothing good comes of it, I promise you that it will eventually pay off.

The right people always see the work that you do, even if it takes a while. They will notice you and they will say, hey, this guy or girl is really doing a great job and working his or her butt off! Sometimes, though, those people are the ones who don't say anything. Those are the people who watch to see if you'll continue to do a great job, even when you might not be getting recognized for it. They might be sitting on the sidelines thinking, are they just doing it for the pat on the back? Or are they doing it because it's part of their character? And when they see you continue to bust your butt, without any recognition, because you just want to do the absolute best that you can do regardless of recognition, I promise you they see your character. They will see your strength and grit and hustle, and they will be the first to reward you and tell you how great of a job you did.

Good things always come to those who hustle. Don't forget that. Those who bust their butts and hustle day and night so that they can make it to the top, working however many jobs and the longest hours ever, I promise good things will come. It may take days, months, years even, but people always notice those who are constantly moving their behinds and grinding away. Regardless of how it feels when you have little sleep and want to give up because there isn't a payout, I promise you'll look back and love how hard you worked because it will get you to amazing places.

Make sure that you not only bust your butt but recognize the others that do, too. It's not easy constantly grinding and always trying your best and it sucks when no one notices you, so make sure to appreciate the others who are doing the same around you. It's easy to say "no one notices me" but it's better to lean on those who know what you're going through and show appreciation for each other. It'll make getting to the top that much sweeter - because you had a friend who understood the grind along the way.

I promise you that your hard work will pay off. When it does, you'll feel extremely grateful and it'll be very satisfying. You'll appreciate those who saw you sweating your tail off and you'll be grateful for those who helped you along the way. Keep pushing, keep your head up and always stay hungry. It's beautiful when you feel like you've made it. Grateful

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
