I've had my fair share of furry little four-legged friends over the years. Lately, I've been missing having my special little pal waiting at home for me with their rapidly wagging tail and dopey little face. I've been trying to convince my parents to let me bring home a pup for ages now and I'm hoping this list of all the reasons dogs rule will help support my case.

1. Every time you come home they'll greet you at the door like they haven't seen you in years.

Giphy

No matter how long you've been gone, they are always so happy to see you.

2. You won't find a more loyal companion than a pup

Giphy

3. They never argue about what to watch on TV.

Giphy

They're happy to just cuddle up on the couch next to you.

4. Pups know that it's all about the simplest things in life.

Giphy

It doesn't take much to make them happy.

5. Dogs are the ultimate workout pal.

Giphy

They're always up for a long walk/jog around the neighborhood.

6. They always know when something is wrong

Giphy

And are willing to smother you in endless amounts of kisses and a good old fashioned snuggle.

7. Your pooch will keep your bed warm in those cold winter months.

Giphy

It's like having your own personal space heater.

8. Slobbery dog kisses are some of the best kisses.

Giphy

9. Pups know nothing but unconditional love for their owner.

Giphy

When you think about it, they're actually way too precious for this world.

10. Hanging out with your little doggo friend is one of the best ways to relieve stress

Giphy

Especially after a long work day.

11. Dogs are super protective of their owners

Giphy

So you'll know that they'll always have your back.

12. Pups encourage us to get out there and explore.

Giphy

They're curious little creatures that will fill your life with adventure.

13. They're guaranteed to bring laughter and smiles to your everyday life.

Giphy

14. You can dress your doggo up for the holidays.

Giphy

Santa hats, heart shaped sunglasses, New Years hats, you name it.

15. Let's be honest, they're better selfie takers than most of the people you know.

Giphy

16. Their positive attitude is infectious.

Giphy

17. Even when they do something wrong, they're adorable.

Giphy

I mean how can you stay mad at that face?

18. Pups teach patience and responsibility.

Giphy

19. I mean nothing against cats, but pups do their business outside

Giphy

Which is a huge plus, in my opinion.

20. They'll improve your social life.

Giphy

C'mon, we're all guilty of talking to someone on the street just to get a chance to pet their pup.

21. Dogs will listen to anything you have to say

Giphy

And the best part is that they won't judge you.

22. Pups are super smart, so you can teach them to do all sorts of cool tricks.

Giphy

23. Their favorite thing to do is to make you happy.

Giphy

Imagine coming home to someone whose sole desire is to make you happy.

24. Pups make the best vacuum cleaners.

Giphy

I mean have you seen how fast they'll snatch up spilled snacks?

25. Have you seen them?

Giphy

Just look at that face.

26. Dogs are the best friend that anyone could have.

Giphy

Their love and loyalty never expires so honestly, what other reason do you need?

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.

Amidst my hectic college career, I always find time for one thing, even on the busiest weeks: Parks and Recreation. This show has made me laugh and has made me cry, but most of all I have related to this show more than I would like to admit.

April Ludgate from Parks and Recreation is notorious for her "I don't care" attitude. She speaks her mind without caring what anyone thinks of her. Fans love her because she isn't afraid to be herself. April can seem cold and negative, but she's really just fearless and strong-minded. And despite her sometimes harsh words, April truly cares about the people she's closest to. These are all reasons she is the epitome of a college student. April complains whenever she has to do any kind of work, but ends up doing the work anyway. April Ludgate is the ultimate college student spirit animal.

11 Ways To Live The Best Life You Can

Life is full of twists and turns, but you have to keep going.

Life is all about twist and turns, sideways and which ways. Nothing is permanent, so we should take risks, and chase our dreams. We are taught at a young age many lessons that will follow us into adulthood. What we aren't taught is how to feel, and how we handle those emotions. We just have to figure them out ourselves, and that's not fun. In my 21 years of living, I have come to know that way too many people can't handle emotions, or the fact that not everyone is dead inside like them. When you're like me, and you have zero control over your emotions, it's hard to feel comfortable around people who aren't so in touch with themselves. As much as I would like to feel nothing at times, I've accepted who I am and the fact that I can cry over practically nothing. So, there are some things in life that you just have to do.
