Since summer is here, every high school and college student has found their perfect summer job. Each summer job entails very specific requirements, which I believe can translate to what type of dog fits each job perfectly. So let's take a look!

1. Lifeguard - German Shepard

Lifeguards need to be sharp, attentive and always watching. German Shepards perfect fit this description with their protective nature. Try telling me that a German Shepard wouldn't be an awesome lifeguard!

2. Waiter - Labrador Retriever

The job is right in the dog's name: retriever. Labs are so smart and have great memories, which is why they would thrive in a restaurant. They would run to and from the kitchen grabbing your meal, (while only stealing a few bites).

3. Intern - Pit bull

Interns are competing with other applicants for the job and then to make their mark on the company so they will be noticed. This is why a pit bull would make a perfect intern. Also, look at how adorable they are in glasses.

4. Nanny - Golden Retriever

Golden Retrievers are loyal, fun and caring; these are all of the qualities that a great nanny needs. A nanny needs to be attentive to the family they are working for while constantly wanting to go out and play. The kids will absolutely love him/her!

5. A 9-5 desk job - Pug

Pugs go with the flow, which is exactly what a 9-5 desk job employee must do. They are caring, but it is okay if they get a little distracted or confused from time to time.

6. Camp counselor - Bernese Mountain Dog

These dogs are playful, smart and protective; a camp counselor must have the same personality to make sure all of the campers are accounted for while still having a great time.

While there are so many other jobs and dogs that would make a great fit, these dogs are going to have a great summer at their new jobs! So watch out college kids, soon you might be replaced by a pit bull.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
