Whether you're a cat person, a dog person or just a regular person, there's one thing that is universally known: Dogs are just too good for this world. We as a human race could learn a lot from these four-legged bundles of happiness. Here are six reasons (out of the very many) why dogs are so wonderful.
1. Having been believed to evolve from wolves, dogs do have a natural instinct to protect and fight.
However, most of the time, these instincts will be used to protect their humans from the ever-so dangerous squirrel outside in the yard or to fight the vacuum cleaner that's causing unrest within the house. Whatever the "threat", you will feel protected no matter what with your own solider by your side.
2. Dogs will put you before themselves every single time.
They don't hold grudges. You accidentally stepped on their tail earlier that day but they see that you're upset? They'll bring you their favorite chew toy/whatever they can find in an attempt to cheer you up. You're exceptionally happy? They'll follow you everywhere around the house, matching the excited spring in your step while acknowledging your deserved happiness even if no one else does. Even if that means following you into the bathroom.
3. The concept of time fails to exist to a dog.
No one has ever been as excited to see me than my dog. Seriously...no one. Whether I've been gone for three minutes or three months, my dog will always greet me with a running start, tons of kisses and a smile (yes, a smile). No matter how long you've been gone, dogs will greet you the same each time: as if they haven't seen you in FOREVER. That sheer excitement of having your presence appreciated will never get old.
4. They appreciate the little things in life.
Though they may get fed the same exact food every day, each time they will scarf it down in three seconds flat and lick their lips afterwards like they just finished eating a meal at a five-star restaurant.
5. Dogs are built in best friends.
You can tell them your deepest, darkest secrets and they won't say (or bark) a word. And there's nothing more comforting after an emotionally exhausting day than just petting or playing with a dog. It not only helps calm you down, but it's also a great way to cope while dealing with mental health struggles.
6. Because they do things like this
