This past weekend, I've had the privilege of dog-sitting some dogs.
Three of them.
I thought, "How hard could three doggies be?" "I love dogs."
LOL at me.
Beginning from the moment I walked in the house to pick up all three dogs, I knew this weekend was going to be interesting.
I thought I'd showcase some of the things they feel when being "babysat" for three days.
1. "WHO THE F*** ARE YOU?"
These dogs looked at me like I was criminal breaking into their precious owner's home. Luckily, they are not vicious, just annoyed.
2. "WE'RE GOING FOR A RIDE?!"
All three of the dogs love to ride in the car. Getting all three into the car at the same time? Not so easy.
3. "EXCUSE ME STRANGE LADY WHO I'VE MET SEVERAL TIMES; WHERE ARE WE GOING?"
I could feel (and smell) the anxiety coming from the back seat. I live roughly 20 minutes away, but that is like three days in dog-time.
4. "NEW HOUSE?!!!?!"
New house = new smells, new things to get into, new places to sleep, and new places to poop. Yippie.
5. "ITS FOOD-O-CLOCK!"
Don't worry, I fed the dogs the food their owners left, but the look they gave me when they didn't get some exciting meal to go with this exciting day? Priceless.
6. "WALK!?!??!?"
A quick walk around the neighborhood turns into a two hour event with three dogs.
7. EXHAUSTION
After an afternoon filled with excitement, all three dogs were down for the count by 9 p.m.
I'll admit I wasn't prepared when I signed up to watch three dogs for an entire weekend. Despite that, I got all three dogs feed and put to sleep before I was even done cooking my dinner and finishing this article.
How hard can day two be?
Love,
