When Summer Doesn't Feel Like Summer Anymore

When I was a kid I always hated being young, I was fascinated by what life was like outside of the restrictions of a child... now I ask myself everyday why I thought being an adult was so cool? Because in reality ITS TERRIBLE. I would do anything to be in high school again living a care free summer. I honestly thought that being on summer vacay after my first year of college was going to be nice and relaxing... let me tell you, its been the complete opposite. Free time? never heard of her. SO what should you do if summer starts to not feel like summer anymore? I'm honestly trying to figure out myself the answer to this question so bare with me LOL...

Between taking summer classes trying to be a productive college student, working your you know what off, and trying to have some what of a social life, its very easy for summer to start not feeling like summer at all. And sadly that's just life and we kind of just have to deal with it which can be EXTREMELY frustrating or at least it has been for me. So instead of making silly avoidable mistakes, I'm here to hopefully help you dodge all the adulting bullets that are going to come after you in the future or even currently.

Being an adult in my opinion is being fully capable of maintaining a social life, a home life, as well as a work life... THAT'S A LOT. Why did I ever want to be grown again? Couldn't tell ya. But this summer I think I finally realized how hard adulthood must be and I've only experienced a very small fraction of it so i cant imagine how my parents feel. Summer isn't summer anymore when you have to take summer classes to get ahead or work EVERYDAY restricting you from spending time with friends and just enjoying the sun and life. Its sad that this transformation is confusing but stay true to who you are and you should flow right through.

Remind yourself that you need to live while you're young. Now is our time to learn what we like and dislike, USE YOUR FREE TIME TO DO THAT. Schedule a day or two off work for yourself and have a self care day. Do something that you want to do for a change not what your boss wants you to do. You HAVE to give yourself time or schedule off time to focus on your goals and so you can use that time to pursue them.

I started off the summer taking a may-mester course and it was difficult. Its hard to sit in class all day while your friends are at the beach or pool living their best lives. Then shortly after I began to work even more since my schedule was more open without class and I definitely missed out on so many nights with my friends. It important to have a job and save money over summer for the next school year for sure but, I definitely advise you to see what you are capable of handling before you dive in head first. I wish I would've given myself more free time this summer to focus on this platform as well as having more time to spend time with my family members and friends.... but hey, now I know right?

Summer may not even feel like summer anymore with everything you have going on and because your becoming a mini adult but remember to give yourself days to be a kid again. Be young! Enjoy your family, enjoy your friends, and most importantly ENJOY YOUR SUMMER WHILE YOU STILL HAVE ONE!!!!!

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
