Do You Truly Support All Lives Matter?

Or are you just opposing the Black Lives Matter Movement?

Do You Truly Support All Lives Matter?
The Choices Program

There's a big controversy over Black Lives Matter vs. All Lives Matter. There will probably always be controversy over those two topics, but what does it really mean to support All Lives Matter?

If you are a supporter of All Lives Matter, do you truly support all lives? Do you seek equality and justice for those people who are mistreated due to race, religion, or even socioeconomic status? Would you take a stand and be on the side of those who are different than you?

Or are you simply saying all lives matter because of the fact everyone in somehow 'equal'?

Let's put it in a scenario, say you are wanting to go to a local coffee shop with some friends, but one of your friends is denied entry simply because of the color of their skin. It doesn't pertain to you because you were allowed entry, but to that friend it means everything because they were denied entry based on the shop owner's views on people of a different skin tone. Most people would support their friend because that is someone they know, and they believe that no one should be treated differently. What if that person who was denied entry due to their skin color was a stranger? Would you still stand up for them, or would you continue on with your day acting as if nothing happened?

If you wouldn't stand up for that stranger, how can you be a supporter in All Lives Matter? How can you sit there and call people idiots for supporting a race who is constantly considered guilty because of the color of their skin when you wouldn't stand up for someone due to the color of their skin because it doesn't pertain to you?

Just because someone supports Black Lives does not mean they support violence and the killing of police officers. That's only a select few people who ruins it for the entire group of supporters. They want justice for the unnecessary shootings that take place. It does not mean Black Live supporters hate police or hate White people. It's not a race game, it's standing up for what is right and bringing change into this country.

If you truly support All Lives Matter than you truly support Black Lives, Latino/a Lives, and Muslim Lives as well as the Blue Lives. If you are not willing to fight for the right of others then you are using All Lives Matter as a way to excuse the behavior that is going on within the nation today.

All Lives Matter should mean that everyone deserves equality. It means that everyone should have someone standing up for them when they are receiving unfair treatment. It means that you will fight for the right of others who are different than you, but sadly some people do not see it like that. They see it as a way to be neutral so they don't offend anyone who might oppose of Black Lives Matter.

Now if you believe in fair and equal treatment for everyone including those of a different race, religion, and socioeconomic level and you would fight for them to have equal rights, then, by all means, you have the right to say All Lives Matter. But if you are secretly saying All Lives Matter and you don't support equal rights of others then you honestly do not support everyone and you might as well stop using All Lives Matter as a cover up.

This is a time we have to stand up and fight for those being oppressed by others. We have to stand up for the officers who do their jobs and we have to stand up against the officers that are corrupt. Just like we have to stand up for the unnecessary shootings against Blacks, Latinos, and even the shootings of Whites.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
