Do you hear it
Over the music
Blaring over the car stereos,
Loud enough to drown out the sound of your own voice in your ears
Singing along?
Do you hear it
In the deafening silence of a starry sky,
Wonder being more priceless than words?
Do you hear it
In the shiver,
When you sit shoulder to shoulder,
And in the small glances from across the room?
I hear it in the coffee machines
And in the faint music from cars driving past,
While I sit comfortably on a bench.
I hear it in the flip of a page
Or the silence of being engulfed
In a world that only exists in words,
In my head.
The loudness of life, and the deafening silence of peace, and everything in between.
Do you hear it?
